Ministries

Nursery

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."  ~ Psalm 127:3

We consider the care of our infants and toddlers to be very important. For this reason, we have a clean, safe, and cheerful nursery ministry. A parent who knows that his or her child is being well cared for can be more attentive to God’s Word during the Sunday School and church services. All of our nursery staff have completed criminal and child abuse background clearances from the state of Pennsylvania. We provide nursery care for Sunday School as well as the Sunday and Wednesday evening services. We offer the nursery for those up to 3 years of age.

Junior Church Ministry

"Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." ~ Matt 19:14

Junior Church is a place where Bible stories come to life. Geared for children ages 4 to 12, the objective of our gifted staff is to prepare the next generation to know God and to live for Him. This is a fun filled environment of teaching, Bible memory, songs, and games. All of our Junior Church staff have completed criminal and child abuse background clearances from the state of Pennsylvania. Our Junior Church is located in our Ministry Building which is located beside our main building.

Youth Ministry

"Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers..." ~ 1 Timothy 4:12

Our teenage young people are very precious to us. We understand the God-given responsibility of passing on the truths from God's Word to the next generation. The teenagers are in Pastor Bixler's Sunday School class, where they are taught how to live the Christian life. Likewise, the teenagers have opportunities to get together for activities, rallies, and camp. We are trying to help our young people develop the mind of Christ. Through the preaching of God's Word and fun, Christ-like activities, our young people are able to do just that.

Sunday School

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God..."  II Timothy 2:15

The purpose of Sunday School is not to merely teach the Bible lesson. It is to teach, train, and equip so that we might, in turn, teach others the eternal truths we have been taught. Our objective is to ensure that our doctrine impacts our philosophy.

We have Sunday School classes for each member of the family. Our Sunday School is divided into several departments: Nursery, Children, Teen, Young Adult, and Adult. The Children's classes are in the Ministry Building, located beside the Main Building, and the Teen and Adult Classes are located in the Main Building.

Young Adults Ministry

"And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." ~ Prov 18:34

The Young Adults ministry of our church is a Christ-centered group of young adults, ages 18-40, with a desire to grow as Christians and individuals.

This group enjoys practical, Bible based teaching, exciting fellowship with like-minded believers in this age category, and opportunities to serve the Lord in our local church.

Nursing Home Ministry

"With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding." ~ Job 12:12

At Fellowship Baptist, we love and care for the elderly in our community. As part of this passion, we are blessed to be able to bring some joy and heavenly encouragement to our local nursing home residents.

During these gatherings, we have the opportunity to listen to the burdens and cares that these people have. We pray for them and share encouragement from God's Word to brighten their day. We are currently scheduled for the third Thursday of each month at the Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.

Music Ministry

"Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day." ~ Psalm 96:2

The Music Ministry is an important part of each church service. Music was created by God as a mode of communication that prepares and softens our hearts, which makes us ready to hear and to respond to the preaching of God’s Word. We use traditional hymns and conservative music. It is our desire to use the Music Ministry as a means of corporate worship as well as to encourage the believers. The Music Ministry is also an opportunity to use talents for the glory of God. We seek to train our young people to use music for the Lord and prepare them to continue to use it as adults.

According to God’s Word, Christ is to be honored in every area of our lives; thus, our music ministry is geared to doing just that. This is accomplished through singing the traditional, conservative hymns of the faith and enjoying Christ-honoring vocal and instrumental selections. Our desire in the music ministry is not to entertain or please people – it is about honoring and pleasing the Lord.

Our Choir ministry is designed not only to prepare musical selections to present in our morning worship services each Sunday but also to teach basic music theory and basic vocal skills. As we have opportunity, we also incorporate our Children’s Choir as well as an English Handchime Choir. Our Adult Choir meets at 5:00 on Sunday afternoon to rehearse music for our morning worship Services. Our choir is made up of individuals ages 13 and up.

Food Pantry Ministry

"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:" ~ Matt 25:35

We have a church food pantry which distributes food staples to those in our church family and local community who are in need.
